"It looks more capable at not just composing a text, but to do a better job at generating more sophisticated and precise prose and have a deeper knowledge of an issue," Dr Peter Van der Putten, professor of AI, said at Leiden University and director of AI at Pegasystems.

It's more challenging to advertise from a marketing perspective. Yet, being able to be more precise, less generic, demonstrate genuine expertise, and explain its thinking will win over more supporters. "ChatGPT frequently comes across as boring and lengthy in its responses at best, and at worst, it can blatantly lie while maintaining high confidence. Although they insist that security has been addressed, OpenAI claims GPT-4 may still be vulnerable to such problems.

Users of GPT-4 can also request responses in particular articulations, such as the Shakespearean pirate depicted above, moving beyond the set tonality of ChatGPT.

OpenAI's testing revealed "huge advances in performance in sciences, math, and economics," according to Dr Andrew Rogoyski of the Center for People-Centred AI at the University of Surrey.

Yet experts argue that it's more of an evolution than a revolution, and OpenAI acknowledges that it needs more time to be ready to take the place of people.

The essential difference between "truthful" and "falsehoods" is still not understood by these models, according to Mr Ramaswamy.

"GPT-4, however, was released fewer than three months after ChatGPT. There is a lot of power in the area.
