The federal government's "energy conservation plan" by Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif to address the energy issue amid the financial crisis was subject to conditions established by the Sindh government on Saturday.

It is important to note that the PM said the markets would close as part of the energy-saving scheme at 8:30 p.m.

The Sindh administration stated that for the federal government to enforce the energy conservation plan in Sindh province, it must first be implemented in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provinces.

Yesterday, Commissioner Karachi ordered all Deputy Commissioners (DC) to carry out the energy program in their respective jurisdictions and provide a report on its implementation.

According to a statement by Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif last month, the federal cabinet authorized the energy conservation strategy.

All markets and shopping centers must close by 8:30 p.m., and wedding venues must close at 10:00 p.m., according to the approved energy conservation plan.

At a cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in charge, Khawaja Asif told the media that Pakistan could save between 8,000 and 9,000 megawatts of electricity each year, amounting to Rs 62 billion.

According to Khawaja Asif, markets in other areas close around six o'clock in the evening, but those in Pakistan stay up until beyond midnight.
